View Flemmingh Progeny

Flemmingh was sired by the Holsteiner Lacapo, son of the glorious Landgraf I. Lacapo developed into one of the better Landgraf products, taking a third place in the German stallion jumping index in his category. He produced a number of approved sons which all had good results in their performance tests. Lacapo sired Athene IV who became 1989 Champion, Mare of Holstein. Lacapo’s dam is by Capitano, who became famous through his son Capitol, a producer of many international show jumpers.

Flemmingh’s dam is Texas, a remarkable broodmare who also produced the Second Reserve Champion Gaspari, an approved Holsteiner stallion. She was sired by Carneval, who was Champion of the two-year-old colts. His performance test brought him a win in ‘Leistungsklasse’. Carneval produced excellent dams who breed in Belgium and Holstein. His offspring are prominent movers. Texas’ dam Ledusa was sired by Lorenz (by Ladykiller xx), who rendered excellent services in Holstein and the Netherlands and produced, amongst others, the world famous jumper Everest Oyster.

Flemmingh belonged to the best performers of the 1990 Dutch stallion performance test. He scored three 9s for jumping under the rider and for his training report. Flemmingh has fabulous paces: an active, roomy walk, a rich trot and a good canter. He is a careful jumper with a lot of talent. He is a willing worker and never seems to tire. In the jury report Flemmingh was described as having great talent in dressage and a lot of promise as a jumper.

His progeny earn numerous first placings at their classifications. He bred several champion foals such as Kreta (Benelux champion of the filly foals [Benelux = Belgium/Netherlands/Luxembourg]). Flemmingh’s offspring stand out because of their superb conformation and excellent movement. Flemmingh’s progeny have excelled in the classification arena with many state championship winners:

  • The approved stallion Krack C, who is now being ridden by Olympic Champion Anky van Grunsven, is one of the most promising Dressage stallions.
  • Lingh, another Flemmingh decendent, came reserve champion to Krak C in the Dutch Light Tour Dressge Championships 2001.
  • AEA Flemmingh (1996) shows lots of potential. He was the AWHA Champion foal in 1996. We have high expectations of him as a potential sire and dressage horse. Now gelded, he was sold to New Zealand at the 2000 Auction of the Stars. AEA Flemmingh is now successful in the Dressage arena as well as the Show ring.
  • Neversfelde Feuer (1995) Maurice Bruce competes this exceptionally nice young dressage horse.
  • AEA Flaminga (1998) was Champion AWHA foal with one of the highest scores ever for movement.
