General
Bookings
All bookings must be made directly with the stud by completing and forwarding this nomination agreement, including the mare identification. $275 booking fee must accompany the booking. No semen will be shipped until the stud fee – which includes the booking and handling fee plus a $275 transport shipper usage fee – is paid.
Free Return
A free return service (excluding the $275 booking/handling fee and, if applicable, the $275 collection/shipper usage fee) will be given to mares which are tested empty. If the mare is found to be empty a veterinary certificate must be forward to the stud.
If required, a different mare may be substituted. Should the mare’s owners be entitled to a free return and the stallion used is no longer available, the stud reserves the right to substitute an alternative stallion or use frozen semen from that same stallion if available. No money will be refunded.
Cancellation Fee
20% of the stud-fee will be charged for any nomination not taken up. Transferring to the next stud season will not incur penalties.
Service Certificate
All certificates will be forwarded to the mare’s owner on receipt of a positive pregnancy diagnosis certificate and after all monies owing are paid.
Artificial Insemination at Stud
Mares
All mares must be tractable and handled to lead. The proprietors or the stud manager reserve the right to refuse any mare for service at any time.
Veterinary Attention
All veterinary related expenses will be charged to the mare’s owner. If, for any reason, a major expense is to be incurred, AEA Burong will endeavor to notify the owner. Routine veterinary care will require no notification. If a mare is found to be a difficult or unlikely breeder, the owner will be notified and a free service given to a different mare.
It is recommended that all mares be left at the stud until a positive pregnancy test is made, this charge being borne by the owner, however, if the owner does not wish to leave the mare, a veterinary certificate must be forwarded to the stud within 42 days of last service to prove a positive or negative test.
Frozen Semen Used At Stud
The vet fees are $275 per cycle which includes ultrasounds and insemination, but excludes any medication used for the purpose of the mare’s conception, which incurs additional fees.
Payment
Under no circumstances will a mare be permitted to leave the stud until the remainder of the stud fee and all other fees (including agistment and vet fees) are paid.
Agreement
You will be required to sign AEA Burong’s Horse Agistment, Training and Stud Agreement.
Shipped Fresh Semen
Transport of Semen
We would appreciate 24 hours notice for collection. After collection, the semen is transported by courier. This is usually a same day, airfreight, airport to airport, seven days a week service. AEA Burong makes every effort to deliver the semen on the required day. However, no responsibility can be accepted for unforeseen delays.
All shippers must be returned to AEA Burong using Australia Post as soon as the insemination is completed. If the shipper is not returned immediately a $100 week penalty is charged. The mare’s owner is responsible for payment for the transport of the shipper.
Mare Identification
You must complete the mare identification form and forward with your nomination and booking fee. We use these identification charts to write out the service certificate, so please make sure all markings, brands and so on are accurate.
Shipped Frozen Semen
Frozen semen is purchased on a straw usage basis of $275 per insemination dose plus the additional fee as per stud fee schedule. For practicality AEA Burong will send two or three insemination doses. After your mare is in foal you must return any unused doses.
The purchaser is fully responsible for the proper storage and handling of the straws and will pay for the transport cost of the nitrogen (dry shipper) container. The cost of hiring the transport container is $110. This container needs to be returned immediately. (This is a transport container only and is not suitable for the storage of frozen semen.)
Purchase cost consists of the service fee, insemination doses at $275 each and the shipper usage fee of $110. An advance payment on transport costs is usually required.
AEA Burong will refund the service fee with the return of a negative pregnancy test certificate. Upon receipt of unused straws, AEA Burong will reimburse $275 dose. All unused straws remain the property of AEA Burong.
