Silverstone is the first approved son of Champion du Lys, who won many Grand Prix and the Hamburg Derby under Ludger Beerbaum. His sire Laeken, also jumped internationally.
Silverstone’s dam is a true Holsteiner who scored 3 eights and a nine for jumping in her EPTM test. She is by the twice Olympic stallion Carthago, who is a strong breeder of jumping lines.
During the stallion test, Silverstone scored very high points for jumping: scope 9, technique 8.5, power 9 and talent 9. Needless to say, he finished 1st in jumping and came 3rd overall for that year.
