Inspiration stands at 170 cm, a deep rich bay colour with beautiful athletic movement, incredible power and a superior disposition.

Inspiration is by the exceptional Dutch sire Beaujolais, who is by the legendary thoroughbred Lucky Boy. Lucky boy is the sire of world famous horses such as Calypso, Van Gogh, Medrano and German Olympic gold medallist ‘The Freak’. Beaujolais’s dam is the Keur mare Venice, who herself jumped at B-grade level. She is by the Holsteiner stallion Lorenz, who is the sire of the international showjumper Everest Oyster.

Inspiration’s dam is by the world famous Dutch stallion Nimmerdor. Nimmerdor jumped at world cup level and in many Grand Prix events.. He has more than 30 licensed stallions all over the world, coming himself fifth in the world breeding championships ratings as a sire. His granddam is by the even more famous sire Marco Polo, who was also the sire of a great number of international horses of which Marius, the sire of the world’s most famous horse Milton, would be the best known.

Inspiration was selected in February 1993 out of approximately 800 entries to take part in the 70 days performance testing. He scored an average of 70%. Inspiration was Novice Reserve Champion in the West Coast Dressage Championships 1996 and has had numerous wins in the showjumping arena. In three seasons he became B grade showjumping. His wins include the ‘99 Buskers A&B grade Championship and 2nd in the ‘98 Adelaide Show Stars of the Future. He competed successfully at Elementary dressage level. Prior to his export, Inspiration had just started his Grand Prix career. He competed successfully at Elementary dressage level but was training at Prix St Georges level and able to do most Grand Prix movements.

Progeny of Inspiration in Australia include:

  • AEA Inspector (‘94) 3rd at ‘98 Australian Young Dressage Horse Championships for 3 and 4 year olds, and winner at the Western District Championships ‘99 with the highest percentage of 70%, now competing successfully at Medium level Dressage with Kate Boyes.
